1. Lead Agronomist

Position Title: Lead Agronomist
Reports To: Project Lead / Founder
Location: Hybrid (field and remote work across Kenya)
Type: Contract / Full-Time (depending on pilot stage)

Role Overview

The Lead Agronomist will oversee CEGOI AgriConsult’s core agricultural operations by providing expert guidance to clients, coordinating field activities, and ensuring that all agronomic services meet high professional and technical standards. This role requires both field expertise and strategic awareness of emerging agribusiness trends, client engagement, and investment opportunities.

As part of a small and fast-growing team, the Lead Agronomist will also collaborate closely with the Social Media Expert to translate field insights into digital content and client engagement campaigns that strengthen CEGOI’s brand and visibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Management & Advisory:
    • Serve as the primary agronomic consultant for CEGOI’s clients.
    • Conduct field assessments, soil analyses, and provide tailored crop production recommendations.
    • Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring consistent satisfaction and results.
  • Business Development:
    • Identify new agribusiness opportunities, potential partnerships, and areas for service expansion.
    • Scout and onboard new clients by networking within local farming communities, cooperatives, and agricultural events.
  • Data & Pilot Oversight:
    • Lead technical operations during the pilot phase, ensuring proper data collection and documentation.
    • Analyze client results to refine service delivery and improve performance metrics.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration:
    • Liaise with the Social Media Expert to share field updates, case studies, and agronomic insights for social media and marketing use.
    • Support the communication team with verified agricultural information for public content.
  • Innovation & Growth:
    • Stay informed on current agricultural trends, technologies, and sustainable practices.
    • Advise management on potential investment or partnership opportunities in emerging agricultural sectors.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Crop Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in agricultural consulting, farm management, or agribusiness development.
  • Strong understanding of crop systems, soil health, climate adaptation, and sustainable practices.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Comfortable using digital tools (Google Workspace, CRM, basic analytics, etc.).

Performance Indicators

  • Client satisfaction and retention rate
  • Number of new clients or partnerships sourced
  • Pilot project success metrics (yield improvement, feedback, data accuracy)

Quality and consistency of field reports shared with the communications team

2. Social Media & Digital Communications Expert

Position Title: Social Media & Digital Communications Expert
Reports To: Project Lead / Founder
Location: Remote / Hybrid
Type: Contract / Part-Time (with potential to transition to full-time after pilot)

Role Overview

The Social Media Expert will manage CEGOI AgriConsult’s digital presence and engagement across all major platforms (X/Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn). This role requires someone who is tech-savvy, creative, and highly active online — capable of building brand authority, fostering engagement, and generating leads through meaningful, data-driven campaigns.

They will also coordinate live digital conversations such as X (Twitter) Spaces, mini-podcasts, and online chats that connect CEGOI with creators, partners, and clients, positioning the company as a thought leader in the agricultural consulting space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Strategy & Management:
    • Develop and execute a monthly content plan aligned with CEGOI’s goals and agribusiness calendar.
    • Design or coordinate visual content (images, short videos, infographics, and reels).
    • Maintain consistent posting schedules and monitor engagement metrics.
  • Digital Campaigns:
    • Plan and run social media campaigns to boost visibility and client acquisition.
    • Use analytics to track growth, engagement, and conversion performance across platforms.
    • Present monthly performance reports and actionable insights.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Host and moderate X (Twitter) Spaces or mini live sessions with agribusiness experts, clients, or influencers.
    • Interact daily with followers, respond to inquiries, and build CEGOI’s online community.
    • Collaborate with the Lead Agronomist to feature field updates, project milestones, and client success stories.
  • Brand & Public Relations:
    • Maintain a consistent, professional brand tone across all digital channels.
    • Coordinate digital partnerships with other agricultural organizations or creators.
    • Assist in shaping CEGOI’s digital storytelling through blogs, short podcasts, and email newsletters.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field.
  • Proven track record (portfolio or analytics screenshots) showing successful social media campaigns or account growth.
  • Proficiency in using Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, or similar scheduling and analytics tools.
  • Excellent copywriting, storytelling, and visual communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of content trends on Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook, and emerging platforms.
  • Comfortable hosting online discussions (Twitter/X Spaces, IG Live, or similar).
  • Basic graphic design or Canva skills are a plus.

  • Social media engagement growth (followers, interactions, impressions)
  • Quality and frequency of campaigns executed
  • Leads or client inquiries generated through digital channels
  • Successful hosting of X Spaces or online mini-podcasts
